Welcome to Haus Sauberbach

In the idyllic village of Ritzenried, in the heart of the beautiful Pitztal valley, lies Haus Sauberbach – a place where peace, space, nature and the impressive Alps come together.

Surrounded by green meadows, fresh mountain air and a beautiful mountain panorama, Haus Sauberbach is a great base for a relaxing and active holiday, in every season of the year.

We are Frank and Lonieke and we live in Haus Sauberbach ourselves. We believe it is important for our guests to feel at home here immediately. Not a large hotel, but a small-scale and personal place where you can enjoy the peace, nature and the real Tyrolean outdoors.

Two comfortable holiday apartments

Haus Sauberbach offers two atmospheric holiday apartments, each with its own character.

The Bachalm accommodates up to 5 people and is ideal for couples or families who prefer to stay comfortably and spaciously.

The Sauberhof is our larger apartment and can accommodate up to 7 people, with the possibility of an extra bed. This makes the apartment also suitable for larger families or a stay with friends.

Both apartments have a spacious balcony, so you can also enjoy the mountains and the fresh mountain air from your accommodation.

A little piece of the outdoors, right at home.

At Haus Sauberbach, it's not just about the apartments, but also about the surroundings and outdoor living.

Around the house, we have a spacious, enclosed garden where children can play to their heart's content and where you can enjoy the sun and the view in peace. Our animals are also part of daily life at Haus Sauberbach. In and around our garden, you'll find our chickens, sheep, and pot-bellied pigs among others.

The animals create a cozy, rural atmosphere and make your stay with us a little bit special. Especially for children, it is of course fun to get to know the life around our small hobby farm during the holidays.

Dogs are also welcome with us. This way you can enjoy the many walking opportunities that start right from Haus Sauberbach or in the surrounding area.

The Pitztal - each season with a different charm

Spring

As the snow slowly disappears, the Pitztal valley comes back to life. Blooming alpine meadows, babbling brooks, and the first warm rays of sunshine invite you to explore the surroundings on foot or by bike. A delightful time for those seeking tranquility and nature lovers.

Summer

In summer, the Pitztal valley transforms into a paradise for hikers, cyclists, and nature lovers. From Haus Sauberbach, you can embark on beautiful hikes, go mountain biking, climb, or venture out to the many mountain lakes and huts.

With the Pitztal Summer Card , you can also take advantage of various activities and facilities in the region during the summer.

After an active day in the mountains, it is wonderful to return to Haus Sauberbach, settle on the balcony or in the garden, and enjoy the peace and quiet.

Autumn

In autumn, the mountains take on a beautiful golden hue. The forests change, the air becomes clear, and the views are often breathtaking. It's a delightful time for peaceful walks, cozy days in the mountains, and of course, sampling the Tyrolean cuisine.

Winter

In winter, the Pitztal valley transforms into a beautiful snowy landscape. From Haus Sauberbach, both the Hochzeiger ski area and the Pitztaler Gletscher are easily accessible. The ski bus stops just about 300 meters from our house, allowing you to leave your car behind during your holiday.

In addition to skiing and snowboarding, you can enjoy winter walks, cross-country skiing, and sledding in the area. And after a day in the snow, a warm and cozy place awaits at home to relax together.

Coming home in the mountains

Haus Sauberbach stands for a personal atmosphere, space, nature, and comfortable staying. A place where you wake up in the morning with a view of the mountains, where children can play in the garden, where our animals are part of daily life, and where you can relax wonderfully after a day full of adventure.

Whether you come to walk, ski, cycle, explore the mountains or just to do nothing at all: Haus Sauberbach welcomes you.

Our dream in the Pitztal

We are Lonieke and Frank, and it is with great pleasure that we welcome you to Haus Sauberbach – our dream come true in beautiful Austria.

The name of our house was not chosen by chance: Sauberbach is the literal translation of Frank's last name, Schoonderbeek. Coincidentally, our house is also located right next to a sparkling mountain stream. It had to be that way.

For years we have shared a wish: to one day start our own small-scale holiday accommodation in Austria. After a search full of beautiful places and visits, we ended up in the idyllic hamlet of Ritzenried, right in the enchanting Pitztal. There we found the house that we immediately knew: this is it. A place that touches you even before you have fully stepped out.

“Why Austria?”, we often hear. Frank always responds with a counter-question: “Have you ever been there?”

Those who say "yes" understand the feeling immediately. And those who say "no," we cordially invite to come and experience what makes Austria so special.

For us, it is the perfect combination of majestic mountains that we miss in the Netherlands, our love for snow and winter sports ⛷️ and the surprisingly beautiful, sunny summers. Lonieke used to go to Carinthia often, while Frank partly grew up in Fieberbrunn. No wonder our very first conversation was about skiing, mountains, and Austria. Not much later we asked each other: “Why don't we emigrate?”

For a long time, there were reasons not to do it... until Frank had to look for a new job in 2025. Then we decided: let's try it. Apply in Austria, see what happens. And it happened.

Soon after, in December 2025, we bought this beautiful house – our new home and your future holiday destination. 🥰

With Haus Sauberbach, we want to create a warm, hospitable place where you can enjoy peace, nature, adventure, and everything that makes Austria so special. We hope that you will soon feel what we felt when we first stood here: this is right.
